About Us
Ihlombe Lokhalela is a dedicated non-profit organization focusing on uplifting children in the Nogxaza area by providing essential educational and nutritional support. We nurture and empower children and their families in our community through our collaborative programs.

Our Directors:
Beryl Ndlovu (chairperson)
Hayley Reichert (Secretary)
Pearl Houston (Treasurer)

Our Projects:

Food & Nutrition
We provide food parcels and meals to our most vulnerable community members as often as our funds enable us to do so. Food insecurity is a primary issue affecting our families. Children cannot learn on empty stomachs and balanced nutrition is key to their overall development.

Sponsor a Child
Every January we provide school supplies such as uniform, shoes, school bags and stationery, allowing our underprivileged students to focus on learning instead of financial burdens.

Sibanisethu Pre-School
We have partnered with a local Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre. Beryl, one of our NPO Directors is assisting the school after their principal sadly passed away. We have identified several needs from administration, supplies and equipment to medical, educational and disability needs of some of the children.

Beryl's Qualification
We have enrolled Beryl in an 18 month level 4 ECD qualification with the goal for her to become principal of Sibanisethu pre-school in 2027. Our fundraising for this requires R550 per month tuition fees and additional transport costs.

Sports
Supporting our youth through football and netball. Our teams participate in local tournaments. This helps our children and teens have access to physical activities for their overall fitness and to ensure they fill their time productively.

Clothing Distribution
We welcome all second hand clothing donations that allow us to redistribute to our families. We hold distribution drives throughout the year and we also welcome donations of toiletry items such as toothpaste, soap and sanitary towels.

Home Visits
Our weekly programme includes regular home visits to check in on those we have identified with serious needs. This includes ensuring those requiring ARV medication have food.

Community Empowerment
We regularly engage in local leadership meetings to collaborate with our ward councillor, other local NPO's and community leaders. e also deliver education on issues such as GBV, addiction and anti-social behaviour. We are proud to have a working relationship with our local SAPS (police).
